A young man returns to the Gila River Indian Community after struggling in inner city Phoenix. As he reacquaints with old friends and tries to move on with his life on the reservation he finds out it’s not that easy. His loyalty to old friends and the temptations of gang and drug culture complicate his plans for building a better life. The threat of violence seems to follow him the more he tries to avoid trouble. As he struggles to find himself, his family, a new love and his own dreams of becoming an artist help him to stay focused and on the right path.
An independent film shot completely on the Gila River /Akimel O’Odham Reservation South of Phoenix Arizona, “In Circles” is written by Roberto and Claude Jackson who are members of the community. A real and non-romantic look at the life challenges many face on reservations today. “In Circles” gives the audience a raw look at “Rez Life” rarely seen in film.

Brief analysis of the Bill:
Navajo and Hopi Tribes, as agreed, would forfeit ALL rights to ALL the water from the Little Colorado River from the moment the BIll is signed into Law and until the end of time. Additionally, Navajo and Hopi Tribes would sign away ALL rights of ANY Navajo or Hopi entity starting lawsuits against any government due to any issues with the water. In exchange the US Government “promises” to build a pipe-line; however, their is no GUARANTEE the pipeline will be built leaving both Tribal citizens and residents without clean water for time immemorial (FOREVER).
